External Relations Officer

At York Community Consulting, we pride ourselves on the professional reputation we have built over the past few years. As a member of the External Relations team, you will build bridges between our organisations and try to forge relationships with professionals to make us successful.

Being an External Relations Officer would require you to plan and host local and networking events, securing partnerships and sponsorships as well as bring in industry professionals as Project Mentors, allowing project members to gain real insights and have expert advice on how to assist clients. In everything that you do, you will be contributing to the overall strategic vision of YCC.

Whilst no prior experience is necessary, this role requires confident and self-driven candidates who are willing to put themselves forward as representatives of YCC. It is a fantastic opportunity to develop both a knowledge of consulting and related fields as well as to create a vast and diverse network of professionals. Candidates should show a display of creativity in coming up with new ways of promoting consulting on campus via events, workshops, etc.

Responsibilities

Organising and hosting events throughout the year to assist with the development of our consultants, managing key aspects i.e. liaising with the external parties, booking rooms, and ensuring they run smoothly
Upkeeping relevant materials on the website, such as case studies and mentor testimonials
Attend department meetings
Ensuring the wellbeing of the relationship between external mentors and project teams via established regular contact with mentors throughout the semester
